What does a roof replacement cost in Cincinnati?
Five factors that can change your price
- Roof size. Measured in squares. (One square covers 100 square feet.)
- Pitch and access. A steep roof needs staging and more labor hours than a walkable ranch.
- Tear-off layers. Two layers of old shingles double the disposal weight.
- Decking condition. Rotted sheathing gets replaced before anything new goes down. If hidden damage turns up once the old roof is off, we stop and talk through the cost with you first.
- Asphalt shingle system tier. Silver, Gold and Platinum carry different material grades and workmanship terms.

Questions to ask every roofing bid you collect
Collecting three quotes is smart. Use these five questions to understand what’s included and what’s not.
- Is tear-off and disposal included, or quoted separately?
- What happens if you find rotted decking, and how is that priced?
- What’s the workmanship warranty term, and does it transfer if I sell the house?
- Are you certified by the shingle manufacturer you’re quoting?
- Can I see proof of general liability insurance and workers’ compensation?
Ohio has no statewide roofing license, so that last question is an important one.

Should you repair or replace your roof?
When to repair
- Roof is under 15 years old, a few shingles blew off in a storm
- One leak in a single valley, the rest of the roof is sound
- Flashing pulling away from a chimney or wall
When to replace
- Roof is 20+ years old with granule loss across several slopes
- Leaks showing up in two or more separate areas
- Decking feels soft underfoot in several spots
- Storm damage across more than a quarter of a slope
- Shingles curling or cupping across the whole south-facing slope
Your Roofing Advisor photographs every slope and sends you the images with your estimate.
What happens during a roof replacement?
1Free Inspection
A Roofing Advisor walks the roof, checks the attic for ventilation and moisture, and photographs every problem area.
2Written quote
You get the full scope, your system options and a start window.
3System & color selection
We bring samples to you, so you can see them against your siding in daylight.
4Permits & scheduling
We pull the local permit where the municipality requires one and confirm your start date.

5Install roof
The crew protects landscaping and the driveway, tears off the old roof, replaces any bad decking, installs underlayment and ice-and-water shield, then lays the new roof. Magnetic sweeps run at the end of each day.
6Final inspection
A master craftsman inspects the finished roof. You receive your guarantee paperwork and manufacturer registration.
What roofing materials does KangaRoof install?

Architectural asphalt shingles
Asphalt covers most of the roofs we replace here. As a CertainTeed ShingleMaster Premier contractor installing to Integrity Roof System spec, we add SureStart coverage on top of our own workmanship warranty. Three system tiers are available.

Standing seam and metal panel
A metal roof lasts 40 to 70 years and sheds snow and ice cleanly. Upfront cost runs meaningfully higher than asphalt, but many homeowners treat it as an investment.

Low-slope and flat sections
Porch roofs, additions and dormers often sit at a pitch too shallow for shingles. We install membrane systems on those sections as part of the replacement.

Skylights
As a VELUX Certified Installer, we replace or add skylights while the roof is open. This is the least expensive time to do it and the only way to warranty the flashing with the roof.

Your Roofing Advisor documents damage in the format adjusters expect and works with your carrier through the claim. We handle the rest of the paperwork, so all you need to do is pay the deductible.
